2.  The instructors

3.  Description

This course will introduce the participants to the technical tools and support system at the MPI for Biogeochemistry, as well as those provided by the Max Planck Society through digital library and the GWDG. As this is an introductory course, it will be mostly relevant for the newcomers at the institute.

4.  What you need to prepare?

There is no necessary pre-requisite but having a laptop (with a Terminal like program, and a web browser) will be useful.

5.  Structure:

  • Discourse: Sujan Koirala, Jan Engel or Fabian Gans

Lecture 2

  • BGC cluster adv. & details on development nodes: Fabian Gans

  • gitlab & git basics: Thomas Wutzler

7.  Participants

COVID-19 update (August 14, 2020): As per the latest corona guidelines, 50 persons are allowed to be in the lecture hall without a face mask. The maximum limit of participants is set to 30.
